Big Brothers BIG DAY

It's been crazy busy around here lately. First things first-- my brother Shane and his woman Bekah got hitched this past weekend! It was such an awesome but BUSY weekend. First, the ceremony took place on Friday night in quaint McClellanville, SC. The church was BEAUTIFUL with great pine floors and I was obsessed with the pews. I think I have a thing for church pews and I would have totally liked to have stolen one of these if it wasnt for breaking the law... and I dont steal... esp not from God... and they're probably really heavy and hard to steal... oh yea, and I hate people who steal. That leads me to a whole 'nother train of thought but I wont go there right now because this is a "happy post."

Bekah came down to spend Thursday night with me because she was trying not to see or talk to Shane before the ceremony on Friday. She and I got our nails done Thursday night and had a nice "last supper" sushi style in Murrells Inlet. We laid low Thursday night and finished up a few arts-and-crafts for the wedding and crashed out. Friday morning I made us blueberry waffles and we lounged around in the morning time... before really getting things done. We headed to G'town to print out her programs for the ceremony (which we did at my office because her printer was acting up...) then we went to Tara's house so Connie (Tara's sister) could do Bekah's hair and makeup. Lauren made a surprise visit and helped Bekah get ready and it was great. After all that we stopped at the florist and paid for the flowers and headed on down to the little white church in McC. They had an amazing ceremony which I wont elaborate on but I will say I (and apparently almost everyone else) was uber emotional (not sure why? that's just what weddings do to people I guess?)... Bekah looked stunning and Shane held it together throughout the ceremony (and I did too... barely), whew. It was awesome though. Really perfect. Afterwards we took some pictures and all walked to dinner at TW Grahams and had an awesome night. Somewhere between McClellanville and Pawleys Island I realized I couldnt find my keys which sucked but luckily I had a spare to my car so I was able to drive up to Sunset.

Saturday morning we got up bright and early and did Bekah's bridal breakfast at The Purple Onion in Shallotte. It was delish and a good way to get our morning going because we had A LOT of work ahead of us. It was a lonngg day filled with loads of decoration, chopping veggies, sewing curtains, staple gunning, decorating, arranging tables, chairs, flowers, candles, and did I say decorating? You name it- we did it. Everyone's hard work all paid off in the end because everything looked AMAZING. And we couldnt have special ordered better weather-- for the middle of July it was perfect. Perfect breeze, perfect high tide, perfect full moon, everything.  And naturally they left the party via boat under a finale of fireworks-- perfect exit for a perfect couple!

CONGRATS TO THE NEW MR. & MRS. WALLACE!!! (and I cant believe I have a sister now!)

Below are a handful of my favorite pics-- all compliments of Rebecca Raynor Fort!!! Thanks Bec:

It was an awesome day and gorgeous event! I must say the hand sewn curtains really set things off!;) So glad I got to see you if only for a few hours. Let's not let so much time go by next time! I'm ready for a trip to Pawley's. I'm going to come and visit!
